Buildbase BMW Motorrad's Richard Cooper doubles championship lead with another win.

Superstock 1000 Richard Cooper delivered another stunning weekend's riding at Donington Park, taking pole position, a class lap record and a race win at his home circuit. The Nottinghamshire rider overcame a slow start to lead for most of the race and took the fastest lap as he crossed the finish line. The win, his fourth of the season, extends his championship lead from 20.5 points to 45.5.

In the day's two British Superbike/BSB-EVO races, the team's EVO rider Barry Burrell finished third and fourth in class, while Lee Jackson, filling in for injured British Superbike rider John Laverty, took two 21st place finishes in the BSB class on his racing debut for the team.

Richard Cooper said: "It all went according to plan, except for the start! It gave me some work to do, but I enjoyed it. I had some work to do and I picked off the bikes in front on my way to the win. I feel like my riding is properly on form - and I got myself a lap record too, which is a nice little bonus. We're now in a great position for the final two races, I only need five points to secure the title. I'd like to thank everyone involved for all their help and support this weekend."

Stuart Hicken, team principal, said: "It's a good weekend when all your riders finish the races they start - and when they come back with a lap record and a win and a podium finish in the EVO class, well, that's a great weekend! Richard is absolutely on form at the minute and he's taken his second win on the trot. What's more, he broke the class lap record three times, the final time on the last lap when we want him to go steady! We're now in a great position for the final two rounds of the season.

"Barry rode very well too, delivering two great results and breaking his way into the BSB top ten during the second race. Lee Jackson had his race debut with the Superbike S 1000 RR and brought it home safely both times. But more importantly, thanks to his impressive racing experience and abilities as a development rider, his feedback on the bikes during this weekend has been vitally useful with setups across the team. It's been a wonderful weekend and we're all very excited for Silverstone."

The next race weekend is held at Silverstone in Northamptonshire in two weeks time.
